Abe, sartorially fetching as it might be,
That stovepipe’s gotta go, man,
It’s worse than tag alders for eating flies.
The other day on C-Span I saw panels of
Black intellectuals minimizing your role
In black history, their conclusion: You
Were political, a mere pragmatist, did not
let your soul sing for true freedom.
My thought: JJ sings soul, acts
Politic, only, always.
Man, reach-cast this time, to that
Tight spot along the log, where
You gotta do just the right thing’
At just the right time, a pragmatic
Solution for pragmatic effects:
To catch fish, which is the point, right?
